Another motorcyclist dead after accident on the Southern Highway

By BBN Staff: A traffic accident that occurred yesterday near Bella Vista, Toledo, claimed the life of a motorcyclist.

Late yesterday evening, police responded to a traffic accident on the Southern Highway near Bella Vista village. Upon arrival, they observed the motionless body of a man, an extensively damaged motorcycle on the left side of the road, and a red pickup truck in the drain on the right side of the road next to a tractor with an attached trailer. The motionless body, identified as 37 year old Rafael Ortiz Lopez, the driver of the motorcycle, was transported to the Southern Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

According to the police investigations, the Ramon Caceres, the driver of the red pickup, was overtaking the tractor and trailer when the accident with the motorcycle occurred. Caceres was flung from his motorcyle and died at the scene of the accident.

Police have since charged Caceres, 50, with a number of charges with manslaughter by negligence and a number of other charges relating to the accident.
