49 new Covid-19 active cases in Belize City, municipalities still most areas of concern

By Aaron Humes: Belize’s towns and cities continue to show most cases per district, particularly the Old Capital.

Here in Belize City, 49 of the district’s 68 cases originated from residents; another seven came from Ladyville.

10 of 18 cases in Orange Walk District came from Orange Walk Town; Corozal Town had seven of 12 new cases, Belmopan 5, San Ignacio 13, Santa Elena 9 and Benque Viejo two of Cayo’s 55 new cases; Dangriga 4 and Independence 11 of 22 from Stann Creek and Punta Gorda 11 of 30. San Pedro Town reported separately, added three new cases.

The mainland Belize District has now had 7,041 total cases since March of 2020; Cayo 4,351; Orange Walk 3,474; Stann Creek 2,420; Corozal 1,881; Toledo 1,613; and San Pedro 1,113.
