By BBN Staff: A 55-year-old man, Anthony Pollard Sr., was fined $500 in Belize City Magistrate’s Court yesterday after pleading guilty to stealing 20 thuja pine plants from businesswoman, Nessi Kesha Gough, 42.
Pollard Sr. appeared in Court #4 and wasted no time in pleading guilty to the charge of theft. The court imposed a fine of $500 plus cost of court.
The Magistrate ordered Pollard Sr. to pay the fine by December 1, 2021, or 2 months imprisonment in default of payment.
According to reports, Gough had reported to police that when she arrived home one day, she noticed some of her plants missing from her yard and when she checked her surveillance cameras, she saw Pollard Sr., who was known to her, stealing the plants. Police visited Pollard Sr.’s home and were able to recover some of the stolen plants.
