Man fined $1,500 for stealing gold chain

By BBN Staff: A Belize City resident, Orlin Medado Garcia, was fined a sum of $1,500 in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court today after he plead guilty to the theft of a gold chain.

On September 22, a resident of Euphrates Avenue, James Stuart, reported that Garcia stole his Cuban link gold chain valued at $1,000.

Garcia had originally plead not guilty but today in court he changed his plea. He was fined the sum decided by the Magistrate plus cost of court. He must pay by December 31, 2021 or one year in prison in default of payment.
