Belize City adds 69 new cases of COVID-19

By Aaron Humes: Community spread of COVID-19 continues in Belize City with 69 new cases added today.

Ladyville saw 11 new cases and others were reported in Sandhill (3); Lord’s Bank and Western Paradise (2 each) and Burrell Boom, Gardenia, Gracie Rock, and Hattieville. San Pedro Town, with 21, is counted separately.

Orange Walk Town added 12 new cases of 27 for the District. Others were reported in Trial Farm (4), San Jose Palmar (3), Blue Creek, Carmelita and San Estevan (2 each), and Guinea Grass and Tower Hill.

Corozal Town had 10 of 24 new cases in Corozal District. Four each were reported in San Joaquin and Concepcion and the others in Chunox, Progresso, San Narciso, San Pedro, Sarteneja and Xaibe.

There has been a resurgence of cases in the Cayo District capitals of San Ignacio and Santa Elena with 29 cases between them. However no other village reported more than 3 (San Jose Succotz and Camalote), while Belmopan saw one new case, Salvapan and San Martin one each and Benque Viejo two.

11 cases were reported in Dangriga and 13 in Independence; four in Placencia, two each in Hopkins, Pomona, and Silk Grass, and one each in Georgetown, Hummingbird Community, Riversdale, Santa Rosa, and Seine Bight.

Lastly, Punta Gorda Town added six of 30 new cases across the Toledo District.
