Carrot harvest starts on October 14, the earliest ever, says Agriculture Minister

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: “For the first time in our history carrot harvest will commence as early as 14 October,” said Minister of Agriculture, Food Security, and Enterprise Jose Abelardo Mai.

The Agriculture Minister said that prior to this season, the earliest carrots would be harvested in Belize would be by the end of November.

“Thanks to our farmers, technicians, and new and sound policies we are now harvesting 45 days earlier. Congrats to San Carlos Farmers… it’s history in the making,” said Minister Mai on social media.

“We are keeping our dollars at home!! Produce what we eat and eat what we produce!!,” he added jubilantly.
