By Aaron Humes: 47 persons remain hospitalized due to COVID-19, down six from last week’s total on Thursday of 53.

A further 16 are in intensive care.

Of the hospitalized, 14 are fully vaccinated and one is of uncertain status. Seven have one dose and the remainder are unvaccinated.

Among those in intensive care, all but four are unvaccinated.

The statistics do not say how many have other co-morbidities but the Ministry of Health says the majority are obese or at least overweight, hypertensive, diabetic, suffering from cancer or other non-communicable diseases and in some cases for women, were pregnant.
