By Aaron Humes: Police say a gang of robbers pried open a burglar-barred window at the back verandah to steal from the residence of a doctor and nurse, both female.
According to Dr. Maria Elena Reyes of Chancellor Avenue, she and her roommate Nurse Melinda Guerra were accosted early this morning around 3:30 by four dark-skinned men, who were masked, gloved, and in camouflage clothing when they broke into their home. Two carried a firearm and one a knife.
The quartet searched the house and found a small box containing US$13,009.00 (BZ$26,018). They also took an assortment of jewelry, gold bracelets, gold rings, and gold chains from Nurse Guerra.
The group then took the keys to a light grey Toyota Hilux double cab pickup truck with License plates BC-C-65040 and escaped with the truck.
