By Rubén Morales Iglesias: 202,517 persons in Belize have now received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine according to the Wednesday, October 13 COVID-19 Vaccination Report released by the Ministry of Health and Wellness (MOHW).

The MOHW said that by Wednesday, 157,572 persons had been fully vaccinated in Belize.

2,245 persons 18 and older were vaccinated since the previous report on Tuesday, October 12.

Up to October 13, a total of 27,036 persons between 12 – 17 years of age have been vaccinated with Pfizer vaccines.

The MOHW is vaccinating with AstraZeneca, Sinopharm, Pfizer, and Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) vaccines.

Persons wishing to vaccinate may visit vaccinating sites countrywide and may also register online for an appointment.

“Vaccinations are now available for everyone; 18 years and older,” said the MOHW.

“Persons who have been vaccinated for at least 8 weeks are asked to visit any Ministry of Health and Wellness health facility to get their second dose of the vaccine. We also advise that even after getting vaccinated, persons are to continue wearing a face mask properly in public, maintain consistent physical distancing, avoid social gatherings, and wash and sanitize hands often. Please be safe and stay at home unless conducting essential business.”
