Belize City man charged for the shooting of Jovani Augustine

By BBN Staff: Police have charged one man in connection with the shooting death of 25-year-old Biscane resident Jovani Augustine, which occurred on Saturday, October 16th 2021.

On Sunday, officers formally arrested and charged 27-year old Belize City resident Kareem Beeks with murder.

Police say that when cautioned and informed of his constitutional rights, Beeks chose to remain silent.

Augustine was shot while preparing to go to a funeral and died of his injuries while undergoing treatment at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital.
