Placencia man found dead in vehicle with gunshot wound

By BBN Staff: A Placencia man was killed in Belize City on Sunday.

Police say that Ian Westby was found dead inside a vehicle parked at the corner of Peter Seco St and Tranquil Lane, with a gunshot wound to the body.

Investigations revealed that around 11:45 a.m., Westby was playing dominoes with his uncle at a car wash at the corner of Central American Boulevard and Peter Seco Street, when a man came to speak with him.

Around ten minutes after Westby left with the man someone riding past the car wash informed his uncle that someone was dead in a vehicle outside the yard. Upon making checks the uncle discovered Westby and, with the help of others, took him to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital however he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police investigations into the incident are ongoing.
