Belize City man in his fifties taken to jail for illegal bullets

By BBN Staff: 51-year-old, Horace Anthony Lord, is on remand at the Belize Central Prison, pending Supreme Court bail, for keeping unlicensed ammunition.

Police say that on Saturday, October 16, on West Collet Canal he had four .9mm live Aguilar brand rounds of ammunition in his possession.

Lord, who was unrepresented in court, appeared before Magistrate Khiana Gordon where he pleaded not guilty to the single charge.

Due to the nature of the offense, Magistrate Gordon explained to him that her hands are tied in granting his bail at this time until 90 days on remand but that he has the right to apply for bail at the Supreme Court as early as this Friday.

Lord was remanded to the Belize Central Prison until December 30, 2021.
