Belize still has over 2,700 active cases of COVID-19

By BBN Staff: The number of recoveries from COVID-19 has brought down the active cases, however, there are still over 2,700 people who are currently infected with the virus.

The Ministry of Health and Wellness (MOHW) reports that active cases are currently at 2,761, a drop of 125 cases than the 2,886 reported yesterday.

The Ministry also has another 323 suspected cases under investigation.

Hospitalizations are even higher than reported yesterday, with a total of 50 patients now hospitalized due to the virus, 21 of whom are receiving critical care in an intensive care unit.

The MOHW also reported that 279 new patients have recovered from their infection, bringing the national total for recoveries up to 21,682.

The national recovery rate was adjusted to 86.9.
