By Aaron Humes: Moist and unstable conditions continue with some improvement later today, the National Meteorological Service projects.
Its forecast calls for cloudy to overcast skies with periods of rain, a few showers, and isolated thunderstorms around the country but especially over northern and central areas, gradually decreasing. Then a few showers and thunderstorms will redevelop mainly along the coast tonight.
A flood warning is in effect as flooding occurs over low-lying and flood-prone areas, especially over the Belize and northern Stann Creek districts.
High temperatures are 85 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, 89 degrees inland, and 76 degrees in the hills. Tonight, temperatures fall to 78 degrees along the coast, 72 in the interior, and 65 in the hills.
Winds are easterly at 5 to 15 knots; sea state is light chop. Operators of small crafts should exercise caution near heavy showers or thunderstorms.
Tides will be high at 10:35 this morning and 10:06 this evening and low at 4:21 this afternoon. The sun sets at 5:26 this evening and rises at 5:47 Friday morning.
In the extended outlook, a few showers and thunderstorms are developing mostly inland on Friday and over the south Friday night, with isolated activity elsewhere.
