By Aaron Humes: As of this evening, according to Police, the body recovered from the Macal River in central San Ignacio Town on Tuesday morning remains unidentified.
The body was found approximately half a mile down from the wooden bridge.
The individual is confirmed by police to be a man in his mid-40’s, appearing to have soft afro hair, standing five feet five inches tall, and dressed in a black sleeveless undershirt and a black checkers boxer shorts. No signs of violence were observed on the body.
The body was taken from the river and transported to the Belize National Forensic Science Service Laboratory pending a post-mortem examination. No missing person report has been filed to date. Police investigations continue.
