BBN Staff: Police have accused a Belize City man of breaking into James Garbutt Seventh Day Adventist Primary School on Albert Street West a week ago, depriving the school of items they will need when face-to-face learning resumes.
Tyrel Moreira, 28, of Wagners Lane, Belize City, is accused of the burglary but he denies it. He appeared before Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford on Wednesday and pleaded not guilty.
Moreira is accused of trespassing into the school compound and stealing appliances worth $1,065, including a stove, mixer, and crackpot.
While there was officially no objection to bail, the Senior Magistrate chose to deny bail and remand Moreira to the Central Prison until his next court appearance on December 22, 2021.
