Leon Garcia charged with murder of Ian Westby; remanded to prison

By BBN Staff: Leon Garcia, 37, a Belizean car dealer of Saint Jude Street in Belize City was arraigned in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court yesterday on a single charge of murder for the weekend slaying of 31-year-old Ian Westby.

Garcia was arraigned in court #2 before Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford. He appeared with his attorney, Ronell Gonzalez.

Due to the nature of the offense, no plea was taken and he was remanded to prison until December 22, 2021.
