Mainland Belize District sees lowest COVID-19 totals in some time

By Aaron Humes: In recent days Belize City would be more likely to report upward of 56 new cases by itself than 56 total cases for the entire district as it does today.

Belize City is still responsible for 39 cases but its table is far shorter than in recent memory, with seven in Ladyville, three each in Crooked Tree, Lords Bank and Hattieville and one in Flowers Bank. There were an additional 13 cases in San Pedro Town.

Corozal Town had 13 of 41 cases and Libertad seven; Orange Walk Town 19 of 46; San Ignacio and Santa Elena together 17, Belmopan 5 and Benque Viejo one.

Dangriga has 16 of 45 cases in the Stann Creek District and Placencia and Independence together another nine and Punta Gorda 22 of 47 with six more in San Pedro Columbia.

Overall, Belize District has 7,966 confirmed cases, Cayo 5,022; Orange Walk 3,800; Stann Creek 3,004; Corozal 2,158; Toledo 1,990 and San Pedro 1,304.
