Recoveries outpace new COVID cases for second straight day, hospitalizations down, but two more deaths reported

By Aaron Humes: Today’s COVID-19 report is full of good news, relatively speaking.

While there are 296 newly confirmed cases of COVID-19, this is outpaced by the number of recoveries at 318, leading to a net decrease in the number of active cases to 2,737. A further 300 samples are under investigation.

The number of persons hospitalized and in intensive care is down significantly from Wednesday’s figures: from 50 to 36 in the former and 21 to 15 in the latter without a corresponding increase in deaths, though two more have been reported.

And while municipalities continue to lead the COVID-19 table, the number of cases is falling if only slightly.

We’ll go over all the data in subsequent stories.
