Man charged with aggravated burglary given $8,000 bail

By BBN Staff: Egbert “Jack” Vernon, 40, who is charged with aggravated burglary, was granted bail in the sum of $8,000 plus two sureties of $4,000 each in Belize City Magistrate’s Court today.

Police say that Vernon is one of four suspects charged with entering into a Belize City home and stealing a car valued at $100,000, an assortment of jewelry, and cash in various denominations including US$13,000.

He was arraigned in court last week and remanded to prison until today when he managed to post bail.
