Second person charged for the murder of Ian Westby

By BBN Staff: Police have arrested another person in connection with the October 17, shooting death of 31-year-old Placencia resident Ian Westby.

He is 26-year-old Akeem Augustine.

Augustine’s arrest comes after the arrest of 37-year-old Leon Garcia last Wednesday.

Westby was found dead in a vehicle while in Belize City visiting his uncle. Reports are that moment before he was found with gunshot injuries to the body, someone he knew had approached him to speak with him privately, and Westby went off on that person.
