Cases pick back up in major municipalities

By Aaron Humes: The number of new cases of COVID-19 by municipality and village has picked up over the past three days.

Belize City averaged 21 new cases and Ladyville three for a total of 10, while San Pedro Town added 19.

Out west, San Ignacio (24) and Santa Elena Town (26) accounted for 50 of Cayo’s 105 new cases, with Benque Viejo adding nine and Belmopan and suburbs 6.

Up north, there were 27 of 58 new cases in Orange Walk Town, an average of nine per day, and 13 of 34 in Corozal Town.

Down south Dangriga added 28 new cases of 78 in the Stann Creek District, 15 in Independence and 7 in Hopkins. Punta Gorda Town saw 19 of 52 new cases in Toledo District.
