Backslide in COVID-19 figures as more cases than recoveries, six new deaths reported

Posted: Tuesday, October 26, 2021. 5:40 pm CST.

By Aaron Humes: There has been a slight setback after a few days of good news related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Six new deaths were reported, taking the total figure ever closer to 500.

New cases (271) outnumbered, if only slightly, the number of persons recovered (260). That took active cases up to 2,679, with 418 samples under further investigation.

And the number of hospitalizations ticked up to 32, although the number of persons in intensive care dropped by 1 to 11.

More in forthcoming stories.
