Senate meeting underway in Belmopan with packed schedule

By Aaron Humes: Barely 48 hours after the conclusion of Tuesday’s marathon of a House of Representatives meeting, the Senate meets to advise and consent on those bills and motions passed by the House.

The House of Representatives has sent up bills relating to health services, loans from Taiwan and to replace the SuperBond, and motions on the support for reparations and the plight of the Palestinian people.

Acting as Senators today are Linsford Martinez for the Government and Luis Martinez, president of the National Trade Union Congress of Belize replacing Elena Smith for trade unions and civil society.
