By BBN Staff: Three men were arraigned in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, charged in connection with a shooting that occurred back earlier this year.
Shawn Ortiz, Travis Herbert, and Shakiel Nunez were all charged with two counts each of use of deadly means of harm and two counts each of grievous harm for the March 17 shooting of Troy Madrill and Delon Hinds.
No plea was taken due to the nature of the offense. Bail was denied and the trio was remanded into custody at the Belize Central Prison until December 31, 2021.
On the abovementioned night, police responded to a report of a shooting on Iguana Street where they found the victims suffering from gunshot wounds. They were taken to the hospital for treatment and were eventually released.
Days after the shooting, the same trio was arrested and charged for illegal guns and ammunition found in their possession.
