By Aaron Humes: The months of September and October saw a heavy death toll from COVID-19 to rival the annual murder count.

October saw a total of 80 deaths from COVID-19 following 54 in September.

The four deaths over Halloween weekend counted two men and two women, with one residing in Corozal, one in Cayo and two in Stann Creek.

Two of the dead were unvaccinated, one partially vaccinated and one fully vaccinated.

Overall for the last two months, 25 fully vaccinated persons died from COVID-19, the youngest in their 30s and the majority above the age of sixty. Many of these suffered comorbidities such as diabetes and hypertension.
