Tourism Minister Anthony Mahler meets with Cayo West, Cayo Caves tour guides

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Anthony Mahler, Minister of Tourism & Diaspora Relations, along with representative Jorge “Milin” Espat met with over 50 tour guides of the Cayo West Tour Guide Association in San Jose Succotz and the Cayo Caves Tour Guide Association in San Ignacio/Santa Elena on Friday, October 29, 2021, said the Belize Tourism Board.

“Discussions addressed areas for improvement of tourism operations in Western Belize and improving the quality of the tour experience as Belize continues vigorously on its path to recovery,” said the Belize Tourism Board in a social media post.

The meeting in Succotz came at the invitation of the Cayo West tour guides.

Espat is also advising residents in Cayo of the Belize Tourism Bard scholarships for an upcoming National Tour Guide Course which will be held in the Cayo District. Cayo residents interested in applying to the tour guide course may find the application link here.
