By Aaron Humes: With 159 new cases of COVID-19 reported today against 227 recoveries, the number of active cases continues a steady downturn, now standing at 2,325.

However, the number of deaths continues to rise with four more reported today, putting Belize a step below 500 deaths from the pandemic since March of 2020.

Hospitalizations remain steady but the number of persons in intensive care has risen again.

Belize reports nearly 90 percent of patients recovered but 220 samples remain under investigation.
