By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Belize National Men’s Cricket Team left Belize today en route to Antigua and Barbuda for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Americas Qualifier.
Belize is led by captain Kenton Young. The rest of the team is comprised of Travis Stephenson, Bernan Stephenson, Kenroy Reynolds, Aaron Muslar, Gareth Joseph, George Hyde, Keenan Flowers, Ian Broaster, Herbert Banner, Glenford Banner, Garrett Banner Jr. Andrew Banner, Aaron Arnold.
The coach is Michael Sobers.
President Roy Young said the seven teams are playing a single round-robin. The overall winner qualifies for the World Cup in Australia in October-November 2022.
Initially, eight teams were scheduled to compete in the Americas qualifier, but the number was cut to seven when the Cayman Islands withdrew.
The World Cup Qualifier starts on Sunday, November 7 at the Coolidge Cricket Ground and the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound, both in Antigua. The final games will be played on Sunday, November 14.
