Belize City man remanded to prison on gun aggravated assault charge

By BBN Staff: Belize City resident 26-year-old, Jaheel Goodger, is on remand at the Belize Central Prison, pending bail, after pulling a gun on James Jones.

Goodger appeared unrepresented in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court today before Magistrate Audrey Grinage where he was read a single charge of aggravated assault with a firearm.

The incident allegedly occurred on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, in Belize City.

In court, Goodger pleaded not guilty to the charge but due to the nature of the offense, bail was denied and he was remanded into custody at the Belize Central Prison until January 3, 2022.
