SCLAN, National Women’s Commission host 2-day training session for Belize Defence Force instructors

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: San Ignacio and Santa Elena Town councilor Omar Rodriguez, Spouses of CARICOM Leaders Action Network (SCLAN) and the National Women’s Commission are jointly hosting a two-day training session for members of the Belize Defence Force instructors in San Ignacio.

The training sessions are being conducted under the Engaging Men and Boys project.

“Today’s session will present and explore key concepts like gender, equality, and culture where participants will have the opportunity to discuss how these concepts can help to prevent gender-based violence,” said a statement by the San Ignacio and Santa Elena Town Council (SISETC) on social media.

“We would like to thank Belize Defence Force and participants for their commitment and look forward to furthering our discussions tomorrow,” said the SISETC statement
