By Rubén Morales Iglesias: “A group of 10 Belizeans traveled to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic to ride the Masters Cycling Race held yearly called the Triple-100,” said Santino Castillo who is part of the Belizean Cycling contingent.
The event is called the Triple-100 (Triple Cien) because it is comprised of three 100-kilometer races.
The races are to be held from Friday, November 5, to Sunday, November 7.
Nine riders from the M&M Engineering Cycling Team and one from Team Santino’s are representing Belize.
It stands to reason that the only Santino rider is Santino himself. He is competing in the 60-plus category.
The M&M Engineering riders are:
Masters A 30-39: Willie Chan
Masters B 40-49: Roque Matus, Phillip Burns, Dwayne Wade, Ryan Willoughby, Gilroy Robinson, and Fitzgerald ‘Palas’ Joseph
Masters C 50-59: Michael Wagner and Dwight Lopez.
