30-year-old man dies after falling out of pickup during accident in Cayo

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Thirty-year-old Heraldo Antonio Lopez died after being flung from the pickup in a three-car accident on the George Price Highway. Lopez, who was reportedly traveling in the pan of the pickup, suffered fatal head and body injuries.

Lopez was rushed to the San Ignacio Hospital where he died.

Lopez was a Cayo resident who lived off  the Chaa Creek Road.

Mario Recinos, resident of the Kontiki Extension in San Ignacio, was also hospitalized after suffering body injuries. He was reportedly stable.

As Breaking Belize News reported last night, the accident happened between miles 65 and 66 in the vicinity of Central Farm on the GP Highway between 6:00 pm and 7:00 pm on Friday. Two cars remained on the highway after the accident while a third ended extensively damaged in a pasture beside the highway.

Police are investigating.
