Chinese shopkeepers held up in St. Margaret’s, Cayo

By Aaron Humes: Police are investigating a reported robbery in the village of St. Margaret’s, Cayo District.

This morning around 11:15 a.m., proprietor of Footstep Store Jianwei Tang and his wife were held up by three men, two of whom were armed.

They stole $2,300 in cash, the store’s digital video recorder (DVR), and a nine-millimeter pistol with 13 live rounds. The men are believed to have escaped in a blue Ford Escape with Belize City license plates.

Police investigation continues.
