By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Santino Castillo finished 5th today in the Master D (60+) Category in the second 100-kilometer race of El Triple 100 races in Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic and has his goal set on finishing in the Top Five overall on Sunday.
On Friday, Santino, riding for his Team Santino’s, finished 7th in the first race over hilly terrain. Today was hilly terrain as well, he said. Though it was a different route with the same start and finish, he said he was better able to finish in a higher position.
He now has 20 points after two days of racing and is seventh overall. Santino said he is aiming for the Top 3 tomorrow so he can make the Top 5 overall.
Roque Matus of the M&M Engineering Team finished 7th today and 10th on Friday in the Masters B (40-49) Category and is now 10th overall.
Eight other M&M riders are competing in El Triple 100.
