Dr. Cecilio Eck needs blood donation

By BBN Staff: The family of well-known Pediatrician Dr. Cecilio Eck is asking the public’s assistance for a much-needed blood donation.

Eck, who has been battling COVID-19 since last month needs blood plasma and anyone from any blood type can assist, though the preferred type is O (+) Positive.

There are also some limitations to who can donate blood, those include people under the age of 18 years, anyone who has had a tattoo in the last year, and those with conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, or an active infection.

Any eligible person wishing to donate can do so at the Belize National Blood Transfusion Service (Blook Bank) adjacent to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital or any hospital.

Donors are asked to put the donation with receipt in the name of Dr. Cecilio Eck.
