Man chopped with a machete in Lord’s Bank Village

By BBN Staff: A man was chopped to the head in the Spanish Town area of Lord’s Bank Village, Belize District last night.

Police say that around 6:15 p.m. 34-year-old Neri Reyes was with several other people cleaning up a yard in the area when he got into an argument with three men.

During the altercation, one of the men pulled a machete and chopped him. Reyes was taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for treatment, where he was admitted in stable condition.

Police have since detained one person in connection with the incident, as investigations continue.
