Saturday night shooting in Roaring Creek – police respond, gunmen fire at police

By BBN Staff: Police had an exchange of gunfire with a group of people who were involved in a shooting incident in the Hattieville area of Roaring Creek Village, Cayo district, last night.

Reports are that around 11:00 p.m. the culprits came from behind a house in the same area where Malcolm Hyde was murdered several weeks ago and fired as many as 11 shots.

Officers at a nearby checkpoint responded to the sound of the shots and that’s when the perpetrators began firing at police.

The officers returned fire but the perpetrators still managed to escape. No one was reportedly injured during the ordeal.

Police are investigating.
