By BBN Staff: The Belize Police Department is contemplating whether or not charges will be levied against a Corozal woman following the death of an elderly man the day after she knocked him down.
Today the department said that Amanda Montejo was reversing her vehicle on Friday, November 6, when she knocked down 70-year-old Antonio Williams. Williams was taken to the hospital, treated, and released but returned the following day complaining of pain.
Williams died while undergoing medical treatment. Police say that Montejo has been served with a notice of intended prosecution.
The department said that the results of a pending post mortem examination will determine what charges, if any, Montejo will face.
