Belize routs St Martin 6-1 in Concacaf Men’s U-20 Championship Qualifiers

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Belize trampled Saint Martin 6-1 in the 2022 Concacaf Men’s Under-20 Championship Qualifiers at the Félix Sánchez Olympic Stadium in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, on Tuesday.

Eldon Reneau scored a brace in the 31st and 73rd minutes for Belize.

Tyrese Augustine opened the score chart for Belize in the 13th minute. Daijon Daniels converted the 2nd in the 15th.

Edwin Gomez scored an own-goal in the 35th to put the game 3-1.

Before the half ended, Kevin Higinio made it 4-1 in the 45th +2.

Belize’s 5th came through Jaden Dubon in the 75th before Reneau hit his 2nd in the 83rd to make it 6-1.

The U-20 Belize Men’s National Team now has four points in Group B after Sunday’s 0-0 draw against St Lucia.

St Lucia play against Anguilla at 5:00 pm on Tuesday.

In other group games, St Lucia routed St Martin 5-2 while the Dominican Republic pounded Anguilla 6-0 on Friday. On Sunday, the Dominican Republic blanked St Martin 2-0.

So far, the Dominican Republic leads with six points followed by St Lucia and Belize with 4. St Martin and Anguilla don’t have any points.

At the end of this competition, only the group winners advance to the Concacaf U-20 Final Championship.

Belize’s next game will be on Thursday against the Dominican Republic at 5:00 pm.

Then, on Saturday, the BMNT will close against Anguilla at 2:00 pm. All of Belize’s games will be at the Félix Sánchez Olympic Stadium.
