By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Two hundred twenty-nine (229) head of cattle were exported to Mexican meat company Su Karne today, November 9, 2021.

“The animals had been in quarantine at the Kakabish corral in Shipyard, Orange Walk, and were inspected by SENASICA vets, approved and loaded this morning,” said the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security, and Enterprise (MAFSE). “They will now head to Michoacan, Mexico for fattening and distribution.”

MAFSE said today’s export has an approximate value of $275,000. With that shipment, 2,147 animals have now been exported to Mexico since September 2020 for a total value of approximately $2 million.

Another export is expected to be sent to Mexico in December said MAFSE.
