Belize lose 0-2 to Dominican Republic in 2022 Concacaf Men’s Under-20 Championship Qualifiers

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Belize lost 0-2 to the Dominican Republic in 2022 Concacaf Men’s Under-20 Championship Qualifiers at the Félix Sánchez Olympic Stadium in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, on Thursday.

Angel Montes de Oca scored in the 16th minute and Yordy Alvarez in the 23rd for the Dominican Republic.

The Belize team fell to a 1-1-1 record, with four points, and lost all hopes of winning the group as they lag behind the Dominican Republic (9 points) and St Lucia (7 pts). At the end of this competition, only the group winners advance to the Concacaf U-20 Final Championship.

Prior to Thursday’s game, Belize drew 0-0 with St Lucia and trampled Saint Martin 6-1.

The U20 Belize Men’s National Team plays its final game at the tournament against Anguilla at 2:00 pm on Saturday at the Félix Sánchez Olympic Stadium.
