Political leader Nefretery Nancy Marin collapses at Chetumal airport enroute to Venezuela for observation mission

By Hugh O’Brien: Activist and Party Leader of the Belize Peoples Front (BPF), Nefretery Nancy Marin collapsed earlier today at the Chetumal airport one day after receiving the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

Marin was on her way to serve as an international observer for the upcoming general elections in Venezuela when the incident occurred.

A release from the BPF earlier today informed that as part of the compromise for the observer mission their Party Leader “took the first shot of the Pfizer vaccine on the 22nd of October, 2021 and on route to Venezuela, she took the second shot on Friday, November 12th at 10 am”. By noon on the said Friday, Marin began experiencing a headache which she mistook for a migraine, notes the release.

Despite how she felt, Marin decided to continue on her mission but collapsed at the Chetumal airport while waiting for a flight to Cancun. She is currently receiving treatment at a medical facility in Chetumal, Quintana Roo, Mexico.

In the release the BPF said their Party Leader “respectfully apologizes to the Consejo Nacional Electoral (CNE) and the Venezuelan people for this inconvenience”.

The Belize Peoples Front promised to keep the nation informed on the recovery of their Party Leader and asked that we “join hands in prayers for our beloved sister”.
