Man to spend Christmas on remand for lumberyard robbery

By BBN Staff: A 20-year-old Belize City resident will be spending his Christmas at the Belize Central Prison, over an armed robbery.

Kashane Williams stands accused of robbing Wood Stop Lumber Yard on the Philip Goldson Highway on October 21.

He pleaded not guilty to the charge, but since the alleged offense was carried out with a firearm, bail was denied and he was remanded until January 12, 2022.

Reports are that one the day in question a man walked into the office of the lumber yard and pointed a handgun at the manager demanding that she open the door for another man. When she did so the other man demanded money and took a cash pan containing over $4,000.

The second suspect is currently still at large.
