By BBN Staff: A Belize City man escaped a custodial sentence and was fined this week for being in possession of crack cocaine.
Fifty-six-year-old Orville Neal was arraigned in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on Monday where he was charged with possession of a controlled drug in relation to 0.8 grams of crack cocaine found during a search of his person earlier that day.
Neal pleaded guilty and was fined $600 plus $5 cost of court, which he needs to pay by February 25, 2022, or he will face six months in jail.
