By BBN Staff: There was an armed robbery in Spanish Lookout this afternoon, where two culprits managed to escape with $17,000.
BBN has confirmed that an armed man walked into the business located in Spanish Lookout near the T-junction of the road leading to the ferry in Central Farm shortly before 3:00 p.m. stole the money and then sped off on a motorcycle with an accomplice.
Police and volunteers from the Spanish Lookout Security Team chased the men and managed to knock them off of their motorcycle; however, they ran away into nearby bushes and evaded capture.
Searches were made along the bushes near Bullet Tree and along the road leading to Paslow Falls, but have been unsuccessful. The robbers are believed to be heading towards the Billy White area.
