By Aaron Humes: The numbers continue to look good as Belize approaches the other side of the most recent wave of COVID-19.
With 117 new cases today, Belize has recorded its lowest figure in that category since September.
A net gain of 30 recoveries takes the active case numbers below 1,700 at 1,690, lowest since September.
Hospitalizations are down day over day to 24, lowest figure for more than a week, and the number of persons in intensive care is in single digits for the first time in a while as well.
But overshadowing it all is the rising death toll – another eight persons were reported dead in this 24-hour period.
We’ll explore each of the data in subsequent stories.
