Teenager shot in Mahogany Heights this morning dies from injury

By BBN Staff: Belize has lost another teenage boy to gun violence.

This morning 17-year-old Camron Hernandez was shot to the abdomen in Mahogany Heights sometime after 9:00 a.m.

Hernandez and died of his injury around 10:30 a.m. while undergoing treatment at the Western Regional Hospital in Belmopan.

Reports are that he was in the company of several females walking through a picado road located between Mahogany Heights Village and the Sandy Bay shortcut to the bus stop when someone ambushed and shot him. The shooter then took to some nearby bushes and escaped.

Police are investigating.
