By Aaron Humes: Belize enters the Garifuna Settlement Day holiday weekend with a declining count of active COVID-19 cases as the numbers of recoveries now regularly outweigh the number of new cases.

A further loss of 59 was reported (115 new cases, 174 recoveries), reducing the total of active cases to 1,629. A further 188 samples are under investigation.

28 persons are hospitalized and 11 are in intensive care.

Two more deaths were also reported.

Belize has had 92.5 percent of all cases recovered and just under 2 percent died with 9 percent of the population having caught COVID-19 since March of 2020.
