By BBN Staff: Another man has been fined for the improper wearing of a face mask as court cases for state of emergency violations continue.
Emmanuel Ezekiel Barrow, a 32-year-old Belize City resident, was ticketed by police for not wearing his mask properly when police met him at the corner of King Street and Amara Avenue.
In court, he explained that he had only briefly pulled down his mask to drink something when the officers came.
Senior Magistrate Tricia Pitts- Anderson explained to Barrow that the penalty for a ticket violation on any SOE is $500 and that after the fine is not paid within 15 grace period, the fine is double, sho she should have imposed a fine of $1,000 and an additional $10 for every day the fine was not paid.

He was then fined $550 plus a $5.00 cost of court fine of which he was given until February 28, 2022, to pay in default of payment, 2 months imprisonment.
